Open d’Italia 2017

The Golf Club Milano (Monza, Italy) has hosted the Open d’Italia 2017 after the successful two previous edition. In 2017 this tournament has been one of the eight Rolex Series events, which have been created for the first time this year to elevate the most important golf tournament in the European Tour. As being part of this circuit, the Open d’Italia 2017 has had an incredible and huge prize money of 7 million of USD. Due to that, many top-level golfers reached the GC Milano, few steps away from the Autodromo Nazionale of Monza, the temple of speed: Sergio GARCIA (2017 Masters champion), Jon RAHM, Danny WILLETT, Lee WESTWOOD, Luke DONALD, Ross FISCHER, Tommy FLEETWOOD, Graeme McDOWELL, Matthew FITZPATRICK, Tyrrell HATTON, Alex NOREN, Francesco MOLINARI, Martin KAYMER and more. The most of top-ten ranked in the 2017 Race of Dubai have competed in the amazing scenario of GC Milano and (again) with an incredible number of golf fans (more than 50 thousand people attended the four-day tournament).
The tournament was won by Tyrrell HATTON who scored a birdie putt at the 18th hole, avoiding a play-off match between him, Kiradech APHIBARNRAT and Ross FISCHER, who placed T2. In fourth place Matt WALLACE, who was leader for many holes, even in the final round, before losing some shots in last five holes.
Francesco MOLINARI, who won last year, placed T6 with other three players, while the 2017 Masters champion (Sergio GARCIA) finished in 30th.
